    • It’s hard to garden in the desert, but hardest here because my yard has been infiltrated by Bermuda grass – which can be fine, but boy talk about survivorship! One square foot of Bermuda can be chopped up to seed an acre! Roots are at least two feet deep, and even when there’s no above ground sign of it, just add a little water — and VOILA!

So, I’m trying these buckets! I bought the snapdragons last October. They endured the winter but only grew with more warmth and sun – and such deep and vibrant colors of some, and such delicate and pastel colors of others! They won’t live once the real heat begins, but they, pansies and a plant called simply ‘stock’ are so lovely now!

I am hoping to re-grade the dirt levels in the back of the house for better use of rainwater, using the extra dirt for the adobes!
