  3. WOW! Very cool building! Two questions:
    1. How did your uncle make his fortune? What happened to Carolyn? Did Charles have a relationship to any of his family including you or your siblings? (Sorry, 3 questions!)

    • My mother’s brother was consumed-obsessed with making movies from the time he was a very young boy. Mother used to tell stories about how he make films, created a theater in the basement of their house (by the time he was 12) and charged the neighbor children admission to come and see his films.

      (He also made a ski run and charged them to us it, also.)

      As far as I know, Charles has always made documentary and educational films. One of my brothers contacted him several years ago, and of course Charles figured ‘he was out to get the fortune’. I don’t know what happened except that Charles was cruel to my brother — and NO contact.

      Also, as far as I know, when Carolyn was diagnosed with her blood clotting disease (don’t know what it was) and began to suffer amputations (eventually of both of her legs) Charles immediately divorced her and married Anita, his French secretary.

      Charles has NEVER had a relationship with any of the Lloyd children.

      I will have to talk with my family and consider very carefully what I can say and publish about my uncle, including the part our side of the family believes he played in his own mother’s death. “Tread carefully in a den of vipers.”
